November 2020 Artist
Hello! My name is Brooke Cooley.
This is my first time displaying my artwork and I am so excited to be sharing it with you! Art is the one thing that has always come naturally to me since I was little. Throughout high school art class was the highlight of each day, a moment that I could just flow and be me. My art teacher was amazing and encouraged us to use unconventional materials such as instant coffee for paint and spider webbing to create texture. I did some form of art everyday until I went to college and life got busy. Towards the end of college, I felt incredibly pulled to dive into my own artwork again. I had forgotten how important this creative outlet is for me. Ever since then, I have made it a priority to create and flow everyday.
My artwork is all inspired by nature. Especially during this uncertain time, nature has been my escape. A place to go to reset my mind and realize how beautiful this life is and how lucky we all are to walk this Earth. The transitions of the seasons have been especially beautiful to watch this year, and incredibly inspiring for my artwork. The soft colors of Spring, the flowers and leaves starting to re-grow give us hope that the cold dark Winter will fade away. The transition from Spring to Summer where the colors get brighter, the sky seems “bluer”, the grass “greener”. And then the transition into Fall with the brilliant reds, oranges and yellows- one last pop of color before the grey of Winter. My goal is to capture these colors and aspects of nature that give me happiness and hope. That just like the transition into Spring, we too will re-grow and bloom brighter than we ever have before.
