You could be doing a lot of other things right now, but you’re checking out my art. My appreciation is boundless. Since you’re already here, I may as well introduce myself.

I was born and raised in the Saint Louis area and I have a degree in Graphic Design and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing. I’m currently going back for more school in the fall (I just can’t get enough) to obtain a Professional Writing certificate through the University of Missouri St.Louis to broaden my career prospects. The job market is in the dumps right now. If anyone has any leads for something in the art or writing realm let me know.

I spend my days working as a Part Time Sales Associate at Bissinger’s Chocolate Store in the Galleria Mall and doing freelance design work when I’m at home. I’m also an avid singer who gets paid to perform at churches and is a proud member of the St. Louis Women’s Chorale.

My display is a conglomeration of different types of media, some may even call it eclectic, (like my brain): landscapes, digital paintings, vector drawings, all meant to spark a sense of adventure and discovery. A lot of these are inspired by places I’ve traveled (Amsterdam windmill, Alaskan mountains, Garden of the Gods in Colorado). And then we also have the playful, curious nature of a Chug, (Chihuahua+Pug), inviting a sense of childlike excitement. I especially love the painting of storm clouds shaped like a heart, created on the app Procreate using an Apple pencil. Summer storms fill us with a sense of tranquility while also giving us that roller coaster rush. There’s nothing quite like it.

My hobbies aside from art include: running long distances (and forcing my boyfriend to join me), working on a novel in progress, playing guitar, eating frozen pizza instead of learning to cook, experimenting with photography, and too many more to list.

Once again, I greatly appreciate you for stopping by, and have a great day,
Lauren Johns
